Best of Anime 2016: Sports

When it comes to sports, there are a variety of different feelings that can be felt. From happiness and satisfaction to frustration and sadness, sports embodies what it means to try hard and put in effort to reach a desired goal. Whether it be through a flashy play, the use of fundamentals or playing in a system, sports excites in many different ways and links others through a common means. This year in sports anime, provided for more than my usual watch of sport anime. Along with the journey, actually came with an abundance of great animations to basically showcase the sport in each anime, which was a nice addition. With that being said:

Deirii Raifu’s Pick:

Keijo!!! – ‘Tits & Ass Man’

“Meteor Hip!”

1 3

With the introduction of a new sport, Keijo provides a new journey characters could take. With all the flashy fan service and over top the name sense for special moves, Keijo takes the top spot. With a penchant for flashiness along with the journey of competition Keijo provided those needed highs and lows seen in sports anime, where learning lessons and becoming the best you can possibly be was the name at the end of the day.

Runners Up:

2) Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm
3) Anitore! XX
