“What we call “talent” is the part of us that others can’t see.”
The 2nd season of Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom), aired this past Spring and with it bringing an end to the story as a whole. Unlike the 1st season, this one introduced some new characters, which were more central to the plot. The focus switching from teaching in the classroom to that of Koro-sensei teaching his students more about life.
With the background for most characters being covered, the added depth towards the main story and the “mission” the students had was a step in the right direction. The follow up towards this in later episodes was handled very well. Ansatsu Kyoushitsu has always been about the students and their teacher, and when it came to portraying the emotions the students had towards him, despite the difficult decision (to either kill him or not), provided a nice realistic viewpoint.
The animations keep their consistency this season. With the added depth to almost all concepts in the show (from the comedy to the action), everything only got better, where if anything was added it provided to be a positive to the whole picture.
Yada Best Girl!
OP/ED: The best parts of the OP and ED were the transitions they took throughout the season. With the animations changing in both, to basically show what has happened so far and what the episode (or past episodes) were about. With the class taking on the vocals for both OP’s it added a nice touch to everything. The ED’s on the other hand remained consistent with its pace a tone, providing a nice soothing ending to each episode.
Ansatsu Kyoushitsu Season 2 Was it Good?
For a 2nd season for an anime that did quite well for its 1st. Season 2 does improve upon what has already been set. With the continuation of the story line and it’s focus on the characters themselves, it provides for a nice series to watch, and a bunch of good lessons to be learned.
Recommendations: A majority of the series is focused on a students development, and their relationship with their teacher, thus I recommend the following:
- Denpa Kyoushi
- Great Teacher Onizuka
