Best Anime of 2015: Anime (Objective)

This section provides more of an objective view towards what was anime of the year. This section will generally focus on the main genres and factors that surround anime. In taking amount different niches people like, I think a more rounded view will be shown. Obviously this is an opinion into what I believe most of the anime watching community would like, whether they be just a casual watcher or someone that is hardcore. With that being said:

Deirii Raifu’s Pick:

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku – ‘Two Sides of a Coin’

“We all have our own personal image that’s dictated by others, one that’s always off the mark. We wish to remain true to ourselves but who gets to decide who we are as people?”

1 2

8man is back and Yahari (Oregairu/RomCom SNAFU 2) takes the top spot this year. Most watchers would be either going through adolescence or have been through it, with Yahari employing all the different feelings and of course social aspects that may occur through those times. The characters are the highlight as well as their development where everybody has 2 sides to themselves. In trying to figure out what each person wants in order to “fit in” or not are experiences most people would have, creating a holistic realistic approach. This is combined with a set of music in the OP & ED, pushed it to the boundaries and made it the standout this year.

Runners Up:

2) Shokugeki no Soma
3) Tokyo Ghoul Root A
Special Mentions: Gakkou Gurashi, One Punch Man, Non Non Biyori Repeat, Kantai Collection:KanColle

Roto’s Pick:

Shokugeki no Souma – ‘Masterchef simulator 2015’

“Hope you liked it”

Objectively, Shokugeki no Souma is the anime of the year of 2015. Shokugeki does everything right. The combination of good music, wonderful looking animation, not to serious/easy to understand storyline and that ability to produce the “goose bump feeling” make Shokugeki a stand out from the rest. All placed items I have listed are really good and should be watched, but Shokugeki this year triumphs above the rest, mainly due to its ability to have such a wide audience. Coz, hey, who doesn’t like food?

Runners Up:

2) Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku
3) Aldnoah Zero S2
Special Mentions: One Punch Man (Watched this after I made my choices for the awards, but it was on this list prior to me watching it because I couldn’t ignore the noise it made), Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka, Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou, Charlotte, Kantai Collection
