Best Anime of 2015: Story

Stories when read or watched can do a variety of different things. Stories have the ability to suck us into a world, as if though we were inside that world ourselves. They make us feel a variety of different emotions whether they be happy ones or sadder ones. Sometimes the story is used to tell of a certain mission, message or reflection, they may be fiction or nonfiction or even just a certain recount of what happened in someones day. With all these different factors being taken to account, the best stories compel us to learn more about them, whether it be the background or what happens into the future. This year in anime has been no different in telling us about a variety of the, some where good and some not as much, but there were those that magnificently stood out. With that being said:

Deirii Raifu’s Pick:

Aldnoah.Zero 2nd Season – ‘Destroying the world’

“There are no miracles”

1 2

Aldnoah Zero 2nd season brought us a story of different emotions. From ones home being assaulted to trying to stop it from being taken over, Aldnoah Zero tells us a tale of humanity and that is war. Through its two main characters of Inaho and Slaine, we learn about the two different paths taken, one that is more relative and one that is more absolute. It is through this that humanity’s personality is brought forward, where greed takes place and justice is determined through differing values. The story brought to us one of action, but also of intrigue and thought with the different actions of the characters and how they affected and were affected, a two way street.

Originally, I thought plastic memories was just going to be another show. When I looked over the anime for this year, I noticed that most good story anime’s were either over 2 seasons or a long series. Plastic Memories has the best story this year out of the single season anime’s. The interaction between characters enhances the growth of them as the show progresses. The characters are relatable and feel real, dealing with realistic problems. This tied in with a good plot led Plastic Memories to be the best story in 2015.

Runners Up:
