Best Anime of 2015: Animation

Dependent on the animation it has the possibility to turn viewers off if its not to their taste. It may vary from person to person, but generally a smooth flowing animation is better than a start-stopping choppy one. Through the animation of anime, one is able too see how truly good looking the landscapes, the characters or even the characters special ability’s are. There are certain studios in the anime industry which have set the bar constantly over the last couple of years in animation, and will probably continue to do so. This year in anime, there were a few favorites when it came to animation quality overall, where their studios demonstrated their potential, albeit probably with a high budget. With that being said:

Deirii Raifu’s Pick:

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (TV) 2nd Season – ‘Excalibur!’

“My body is made of swords! My blood is steel, my heart is glass. I have emerged unvanquished from many battles. Never have I been put to flight, but neither have I stood victorious. Its bearer stands here alone, forging steel atop a hill of blades. For that reason, my life has never needed meaning. My body has been made of infinite swords!”

Ufotable has always been known for their great animation when it comes to anime. This further emphasized in its adaptation of Fate/stay Night: UBW, where season 2 continues the ever so flowing action within the series. With the seamless scenes being pieced together, the story board for animation shows its high quality, there aren’t many frame drops and every sword swing is accounted for. From scenic pans across the city, to the very different action scenes full of different colors through the use of magical abilities, the particles that appear from them and the design of the characters, F/SN:UBW triumphs above the reset in animation this year.

As I believe I have said before, ufotable always do a great job in regards to animating projects. Fate Stay Night UBW S2 is not exception to this. The battle sequences within UBW are some of the best anime action sequences I have ever scene. Most grand scale scenes and battle sequences are beautifully animated, with varying contrasts between light and dark. The digital intermediate has done a wonderful in adjusting tones, which has led to UBW becoming beautifully animated.
