Best Anime of 2015: Shorts

Most anime shorts are generally depicted around a certain area. This really focused story line allows for it to be quite reflective of the genre it fits. The plot progression is usually quite fast (as there is not much air time), or nothing really happens. Shorts provide for a quick anime fix, due to their air time, the characters in the shows become the most important as their interactions and relations between each other allows for furthering of the story and greater understanding. This year in anime there were quite a few shorts and most of them were pretty good. With that being said:

Deirii Raifu’s Pick:

Danchigai – ‘Family Fun Time’

“Arigatou Arigatou”

5 4

Danchigai provided a stable story line every week for a short. It was all about Haruki and his family. From playing with and getting teased by his little sisters, to trying to understand his older one, the show provided a very warm atmosphere with the interactions between the members of the family. This was one of the shows I could watch with a smile on my face during and at the end of every episode. The bright animations added towards the warm atmosphere keeping the show uplifted and generally in high spirits. It was fun, funny and interesting to watch throughout the whole season.

Runners Up:

2) Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken 2 Sure-me
3) Komori-san wa Kotowarenai!
Special Mentions: Anitore! EX, Onsen Yousei Hakone-chan, Military!

Roto’s Pick: None, Roto didn’t watch any shorts this year
