Best Anime of 2015: Drama

When it comes to drama there are a variety of different mechanisms which can be employed to tell a story. A majority of these would involve some sort of problem, whereby the characters and/or characters get involved, develop and learn. Drama is a part of everyday life, sometimes we are directly connected to it and sometimes we are not. The feelings developed from it can be both good and bad, where we humans we learn to grow. This year in anime has been quite a dramatic one with different shows offering different things. With that being said:

Deirii Raifu’s Pick:

Tokyo Ghoul √A – ‘You Ken Run but you can’t Hide’

“Tell me, tell me… Is there someone inside of me?”

1 2

When it came down to drama this year Tokyo Ghouls 2nd season takes the top spot. With a deepening of the plot between humans and ghouls. Kaneki becomes one of the most dramatic characters ever, with his indecisiveness between being a ghoul and a human. Right fully done so, choosing sides becomes a difficult decision, when everything in the world around him is not going as he would like it. With his personality changing after season 1, it spreads to other characters, the drama continues and increases up until the finale. The story is one that is tragic and lonesome, where the music added an extra bonus and reinforced the feelings of the characters.

Man, drama is always such a heavy genre, and sure enough iDOLM@STER Cinderalla Girls 2nd Season was dramatic. In a turn of events for the normal circumstances of a general idol show this season delved deep into the characters, especially the trials and tribulations they experience. This unexpected side provided a really fresh point of view, allowing the audience to emphasise with idols as they struggle to establish themselves. I would recommend anyone who would like to see the more realistic anime when it comes to the life of idols.
