“Can’t Help It” Komori-san wa Kotowarenai! Review and Recommendations

“By the way, a new anime called The LandLord is in Puberty starts next month.”

Komori-san wa Kotowarenai! basically provides a story about a group of friends, mainly focusing on the character that is Komori Shuri whereby her personality is that she can’t refuse anyone in need of help.

We watch as her daily lives unfold, whether it be helping someone carry something, helping others with their studies or just pitching in for the different school clubs, Komori does her best at whatever opportunities are given to her. She basically resembles  a person with a really good personality, and it was nice to see her do things for others without any ulterior motives.

In being a short, the characters play the most important role in Komori’s development whether it be her friends encouraging her when she is down, or putting her in situations where she flourish. This is combined with its soft color animations and music keeping each episode light and refreshing. It creates a really nice and warm atmosphere when watching each episode.

OP/ED: For being a 2 minute short, the anime only had a ED. The tune is very light and the animations soft. With the interaction between friends and helping others, the ED matches the premise of the show really well.

Komori-san wa Kotowarenai! Was it Good?

For a 2 minute short every week, it was good. Not too long, not too short the right amount of time to show everything needed. Its characters, animations and music added all together to provide a story about a girl who helps others and that at its heart is the satisfaction of helping others and doing good in society.

In being a 2 minute, lighthearted short set in a school atmosphere mainly revolving around its characters, I recommend the following:

  • GJ-Bu
  • Acchi Kocchi
  • Yuru Yuri
  • Non Non Biyori
