“No matter what kind of path it is, if you feel it’s possible to get to the other side with a smile, then you should go forward.”
With the continuation of the 2nd season of The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls comes a roller coaster of emotions, through the challenges they face as well as the praises they receive from their fans, we continue their journey to “shine” as idols. This time around there is a change in management within 346 Productions, and the department in which the girls are in, is on the verge of disbanding. The producer does a great job in trying to salvage the situation and puts everything on the line, with the girls towards a concert, and if deemed successful would mean that they would be able to continue on.
The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls does an extremely good job in matching what occurs in the anime with what occurs in real life. From debuting as an idol to trying to gain fans and trying to show a new self towards those fans. The girls through a mountain of different experiences and challenges, where we see each of therm (from their respective sub-units) overcome these challenges by either finding something new within themselves or taking another path entirely to show them-self in a different light. It was enjoyable to watch as the emotions at times were very high and also very low, the characters do a great job in portraying how they feel.
As with an idol anime comes with some of the best music within anime itself. The anime is showered with a variety of different insert songs sung by the various sub units of the Cinderella girls. Matched with colorful animations when everything was going well, and dull tones when the characters feelings are down, A-1 Pictures does a great job in reinforcing the situation. With the idols themselves, each character offers a different personality and it created a lot of variety in their backstories and journeys taken.
Anastasia Best Girl!
OP/ED: In this idol anime the OP was done extremely well to match the tones of the show. With the title of “Shine” and along with the lyrics it does really well in setting the tempo for the anime, as well as conveying what this season was all about. The ED varied from week to week, depending on the particular characters/subunit they focused on. This was done extremely well and created a good atmosphere towards the end of each episode. The main ED, was also done really well, it was light and bubbly and maintained the tone of the Cinderella Girls, colorful, cheery and energetic.
The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls 2nd Season Was it Good?
It was very good, it is probably one of the best idol anime out there. With its ability to reflect realistically the troubles in which idols face, as well as maintaining great musical songs, a ton of awesome character development and great use of animations, The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls 2nd Season does really well for itself. It is a really good follow up from the first season.
