“Risque Situations” Okusama ga Seitokaichou! Review and Recommendations

“Is a kiss on that finger for now instead of a ring not good enough?”

Okusama ga Seitokaichou! shoots onto the screens following one protagonist Izumi Hayato as his life is turned upside down with him finding out that his parents promised him to the Seitokaichou (School president) of his school Wakana Ui. Hilarity ensues as these two get caught up into a variety of risque situations, where Ui takes the lead role in trying to increase the bond in their relationship.

It was nice to see they added characters that suited certain archetypes within anime, as well as rivals for Ui. The shows pace felt really well done with the introduction of these characters despite the length of the episodes (approximately 10minutes). With the 2 trying to hide their relationship, Seven Dream Creation’s does a very good job in providing misunderstandings between characters of being discovered to create that extra little tension that it needs.

OP/ED: Okusama ga Seitokaichou! had 2 different ED’s which was surprising to me, for being a “shorter” anime. Though these 2 ED’s did suit the show very well with their mix of bright colors. The OP’s animation changed during the season to show the different characters. The style also changed, where it seemed very adequate with the introduction of more characters.

Okusama ga Seitokaichou! Was it Good?

With a colorful cast of characters and a variety of events Okusama ga Seitokaichou! shows its comedic and sometimes very risque side. The anime is backed up with colorful and bright animation making it easy to watch at some points, and sometimes not so very public at others. However this anime is really easygoing and lighthearted where it capitalizes on its characters and their relationships.

Ui Best Girl!

Recommendations: With all the risky scenes and perverted moments I recommend the following:

  • To Love-Ru Series
  • Haiyore! Nyaruko-san
  • Asa Made Jugyou Chu!
  • Monster Musume no iru Nichijou
  • Asobi ni Iku Yo!
