High school DxD with its ever so loving oppai protagonist Hyoudou Issei and his harem, sets out to entertain its viewers in ways that most people might find not “quite to their taste”. On the other hand there must be a bunch of people who follow and love this series.
This season (being the 3rd) follows on from what was left off the 2nd. This time we are introduced to a greater number of factions within the Demon world as well as the world of Gods such as Odin and Loki. BorN focuses a lot on the relationships between Issei and his fellow female companions, he helps them out so that they understand each other, thus leading to the girl to fall more ever so deeply in love with him.
Xenovia Best Girl!
On a surface level it is okay, it isn’t too deep and I enjoyed watching it. It was entertaining and there were times were I found myself laughing because of the ridiculous antics of the Issei himself.
OP/ED: For myself I didn’t pay quite much attention to the songs for the OP/ED. But if you give them a shot you might enjoy them. It’s not that I didn’t like them they just felt average for me, and sometimes that average is good. I would find myself remembering some of the lyrics and sing them in my head throughout the day at times, making for catchy a OP/ED.
High School DxD BorN Was it Good?
For an anime within the ecchi and harem based genres, BorN does well in not over-detailing things where they don’t need to be. For itself the female characters are enjoyable and a feast for the eyes. If you enjoy a greater and deeper plot this may not be the anime for you. But if you want to watch something light and not have to worry about anything I believe High School DxD BorN is worthy of a good rating.
If you enjoy a lot of pantsu-shots as well as a lot of risque-esque situations that a main character is placed in, this is the anime for you! In saying so I recommend the following:
- Shinmai Maou no Testament
- Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai
- Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou
