“Steel is my Body” Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works Review and Recommendations

People die when they are killed.”

I believe there was a lot of hype going into F/SN:UBW before the show even began. With a track record of the movie and of course its predecessors of Fate/Stay Night/Zero and the Unlimited Blade Works Movie, the anime goes down another path of the popular Visual Novel Series.

Our hero of justice is back, Emiya Shirou. In this route it follows his story to win the Holy Grail with a focus on his relationship with Archer and Tohsaka Rin rather than Saber in F/SN.

His journey brings up questions of “what is justice?” and the fact that he has to face his own future, knowing what is expected to come. ufotable does an excellent job in getting its point across to the viewers. That being it doesn’t matter if its right or wrong, as long as you decide that it is what you want to do. Where tries to become and justify why he wishes to put other people before himself and become a hero of justice, shaped by his “father” Emiya Kiritsugu”.

Ahhh… ufotable your animation is to be admired. It is one of the best animated anime that I’ve watched so far. With fluid battle scenes and music to match, ufotable does an excellent job of gluing the little things together that makes this anime so grand.

OP/ED: The OP and ED matched really well. Well I mean “Brave Shine” was a really good opening in it’s self. With Aimer at the OP and Kalafina with the ED, the OP/ED does really well to match the tones within the anime.

Was Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works Good?

Was it good? Of course. With a proven track record, ufotable keeps on going with this excellent anime. As I have watched the previous anime’s, I would suggest watching them first, as it makes it clearer towards the context of the story and why it is happening. I felt that a two season series was very adequate and it didn’t feel rushed at all.

With lots of action and the supernatural/magical themes within the anime, it is a clear leader in its genre. If you enjoy this with lots of dramatic turns and events I would suggest watching these as well:

  • Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai
  • Kara no Kyuokai
  • Mirai Nikki/Sword Art Online (For its death game aspects)

Of course if you haven’t watched them:

  • Fate/Stay Night
  • Fate/Zero
  • Fate/Stay Night:Unlimited Blade Works Movie

End note:
~Can’t wait for the Heavens Feel Route 😀 😀 😀
~It’s hard to choose a best girl D:
