Kiritsu! Rei! Lock On! Ansatsu Kyoushitsu Review and Recommendations

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu follows the story of the worst class in a really restricting and suffocating high school based on a hierarchy of grades. This is done in order to reflect society where there would always be the “Worst” and the “best”.

It teaches us through its interactions between the class (mainly from the perspective of one Shiota Nagisa) and their weird, yellow alien teacher, Koro-sensei.

The anime does well for itself introducing a number of events and cycling through the different problems in which students will face during the schooling life. Koro-sensei does great in advocating and flourishing each students individual abilities, where a lesson can be learned from highlighting and specialising what you are good at in order to achieve greatness. However this does not come without its unexpected twists and events, with Koro-sensei promising to destroy the world in the year. It also demonstrates another side of the class where teamwork is important as they develop to become assassins in order to kill Koro-sensei and stop this from happening.

OP/ED: I thoroughly enjoyed mainly the 2nd OP and the ED throughout this animes duration. With the lyrics sung by the class for the OP it felt like a collective effort was placed and set the pace for the show. That ending however, man was it good and I mean really good. Moumoon does an outstanding job with the ED and its lyrics/message. I really enjoyed the ED and I consider it probably to be one of the best of the season and maybe the whole year.

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu Was it Good?

It was really good, with the twists and turns as well as they many different lessons one could learn from watching this anime, Ansatsu Kyoushitsu does well for itself. It was heartwarming to see the students thrive under the conditions and come out on top when faced with a huge hurdle.

Recommendations:

There aren’t a lot of anime out there that reflect upon the relationship between students and their teacher in order to provide messages of striving and never giving up (NEVER GIVE UP! ~ as Matsuoka Shuzo would say).

With that said, Anstatsu Kyoushitsu does this really well and I recommend the following based upon this opinion:

  • Great Teacher Onizuka
  • Denpa Kyoushi
